Brickwork at the Marysville church had been in need of attention for some time, and part of the veneer on the back of the building collapsed in May.
Thank you to Doug and Dave Schmidt of F.H. Schmidt Inc. and Ward Carlson for their generous donations of time and materials to prepare the back wall for the brick work and repair that was needed.
Repair expenses were covered by designated gifts to the Marysville Preservation Fund.

There will not be any kitchen cleaning in July. The group will meet again on Tuesday, August 5 at 9am.
Every so often the lottery gets really big, approaching $200 million. Then people at my work start a pool, collecting dollars to buy a large group of tickets. Everyone hopes to be like the lunch ladies in Michigan who won big. For a while I joined in. I used to buy my own tickets too. I told God I would donate big time too. But as I studied more about God and money I came to the realization that if God intends for me to be a millionaire Read the rest of this entry »
Can you help Usher on Sundays? We are looking for additional volunteers (men, women, confirmation students, parent/child) to help usher during the 8:30 and 10:30 services.
Please stop at the information desk on Sunday and select any month of the year that may work into your schedule. If you are unable to help for an entire month, maybe you could indicate a couple of dates within that month you would be able to help serve.
Confirmation Students will have a separate form in the office to fill out the day you usher so we can make sure you get your service hours. Students who will be beginning confirmation in the fall may also volunteer and start receiving service credits now. Any questions, please contact the church office.
Many items are missing from the church kitchen . . . if you have accidentally gathered up something that isn’t yours, or if you have something that needs to be returned, please bring it with you next Sunday . . . Thanks ![]()
Newsletter Crew will meet THURSDAY morning at 9am (which is a further change from the phone message and Sunday announcement) in the Library
Unfortunately, in addition to the holiday, there were technical difficulties at the printers which further delayed our newsletter. This morning they said it will print today (Tuesday) and go out tonight, so will arrive here Wednesday afternoon
New volunteers are always welcome to assist with the newsletter!

On Sunday, May 4 you might remember that Pastor Hahn did a short little income survey on goldenrod colored bulletin inserts. He had you write down your guess as to the average income for other members of the church in the upper left hand corner of form. You than wrote down your average income in the lower right corner of the form.
140 responses to the survey were recorded with the average estimate of income at $62,400 Read the rest of this entry »

June is Zion‘s month to deliver Meals on Wheels to seniors in Buffalo. We are asked to provide 3 drivers per day. This is a most rewarding activity and makes a good family service project.
Consider which days you can help and sign up on the chart in the narthex. Sign ups can also be done by emailing Sherilyn at sburgdorf (at) zionbuffalo (dot) org.
The spring cleanup date for Zion Cemetery, south of the church on Highway 25 is Monday, May 5 at 6pm.
Bring rakes, shovels, etc. In the case of rain on the 5th, the cleanup will be rescheduled to May 6.
Use your talents this summer to provide special music for one of our summer worship services on Sunday mornings. Instrumentalists, pianists, vocalists, groups or solos… you are invited!
Interested in Monday nights at Marysville? There’s a special music spot for you there too!
Contact Sherilyn Burgdorf or Mike Walsh to volunteer.
Plans are under way for the publication of a new church picture directory later this year, and we would like to include every member and regular attendee. Lifetouch has been doing church pictorial directories for over 40 years and their product is top notch, as we found when we worked with them in 2003.
Many volunteers will be needed to make this directory a success. Please contact Angela at abengtson (at) zionbuffalo (dot) org if you can help with any of these needs:
Thanks to those of you who decided to continue with your Garden space and to those of you who decided to give it a try. I look out the window as I write this article to all the snow. Hard to imagine we will be digging in the soil within the next few weeks, personally “Can’t Wait!” Be sure to take in the beauty around the grounds this summer.
There will be a meeting on Saturday, April 19th starting @ 1:00-2:30 in the Fellowship Hall. Meet your fellow gardeners, Find/Revisit your assigned area, Question/Answer Time, Volume Annual Flower Order for those interested.
Thanks to those who will be sharing in this Ministry this year (map of garden plots & volunteers).
REMEMBER: As you plant your Vegetable Gardens, remember we have a Garden Exchange available at Zion, another great way to share.
God Bless,
Marjorie Stewig

Are you a happy giver? On Sunday mornings do you happily sit down before you go out the door and write out the check to the church? Or do you do it begrudgingly and with a sense of resistance and worry? God wants us all to give to church happily and with joy in our heart.
But you ask yourself, how can you do that? Read the rest of this entry »
Did you get your Easter bag of jelly beans spreading the word about Food For Friends (they were handed out on Easter Sunday)?
